Dr. Phillips is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and is a Fellow of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. She is on the Board of Directors and is President Elect of the National Perinatal Association. She was Chairperson of the Steering Committee that facilitated the development of the Multidisciplinary Guidelines for the Care of Late Preterm Infants, published in 2013 as a Supplement to the Journal of Perinatology. Dr. Phillips' primary areas of interest are mother-baby attachment, breastfeeding education and support, and family-centered neuroprotective care of babies in the NICU.
