IBLCE Exam Scholarship The funds will be used to reinburse the award recipient for the IBLCE examination free.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all requirements, have applied, and been approved to sit for an upcoming IBLCE exam. Preference will be given to those applicants demonstrating a commitment to providing evidence-based lactation care in historically underserved communities with limited access to breastfeeding professionals, bilingual candidates, those identifying with a group underrepresented in the lactation field, and those demonstrating a financial need. DCBFC members are eligible and encouraged to apply.
Award Details
One (1) scholarship each in the amount of $660 (to cover examination fees) will be awarded.
Application Process
Applicants meeting the above requirements must submit the following by the application deadline:
- Completed online application
- Applicant's current resume to scholarship@dcbfc.org
- Proof of payment for the IBLCE examination fee
- Two (2) letters of recommendation from individuals that can speak to the applicant's character, professionalism, desire, intent, and commitment to working with an underserved population. One letter must be provided by an IBCLC. Referees can submit letters directly to scholarship@dcbfc.org
Recipients will be announced on the DCBFC website and will be asked to provide their photograph to publicize their honor.

Books and Courses Scholarship The funds will be used to reimburse the award recipient for the books and courses used in preparation for the IBLCE examination.
Eligibility:
Applicants must show that they are dedicated to becoming certified as an IBCLC. Preference
will be given to those applicants demonstrating a commitment to providing evidence-based
lactation care in historically underserved communities with limited access to breastfeeding
professionals, bilingual candidates, those identifying with a group underrepresented in the
lactation field, and those demonstrating a financial need. DCBFC members are eligible and
encouraged to apply.
Award Details:
One (1) scholarship each in the amount of $500 will be awarded.
