Maryland WIC Training Center

Employer's Perspective:
As the training facility for all new Maryland WIC employees as well as a meeting location we have hundreds of people come through our doors. It is great to be able to offer a clean, comfortable place for them to express their breast milk. Employees are able to attend meetings and trainings without worrying about where they will be able to pump or if there will be a location to safely store their milk. Having attended off-site meetings where I myself had to pump in my car I understand what a valuable service it is to have a breastfeeding friendly workplace.

Employee's Reaction:
The Lactation room that I was able to use during my training at the WIC Training Center was very convenient. It allowed me to have a clean, comfortable and private place to pump that was always available. I really liked that there was a small sink in there for me to use. Overall, I really liked having a space that was designated for pumping moms.
