Walter Reed National Military Medical Center

Since receiving the Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace Award in 2012, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center has "strived to become an even FRIENDLIER breastfeeding workplace. We have begun the journey to being a Baby Friendly Hospital and are in the Development Phase (phase 2 of 4). We have focused on updating our equipment and purchased new hospital grade pumps for both our patient care and staff pumping areas. Our current focus is to further update our hospital breastfeeding policy and to work to provide more "local" pumping areas so that employees don't have to travel as far in the hospital in order to express milk. We can't wait to see what next year brings in our journey!"
