Anne Arundel County Department of Health

Anne Arundel County Department of Health received a Silver Award from the DCBFC and MBC. They have lactation rooms at their two largest sites, in Annapolis and Glen Burnie. In their Annapolis site they converted a small but comfortable space next to a bathroom into a separate, clean lactation room. The room can be used for nursing or pumping both by employees and by WIC clients and other visitors to their buildings. In addition they created a .Statement of Support. for breastfeeding in the workplace, which they distribute periodically through their payroll office. Through their WIC offices, they also provide on-site lactation consultant, breastfeeding classes and support groups. Recognized here (chesapeakefamily.com)
