Breastfeeding in a Child Care Center makes life just a bit easier for moms! I love the fact that moms can come and nurse their child anytime of the day. Some of our staff, who are moms and the parents, can feed their babies and/or pump when needed without hesitation in our star lounge. They simply post an in-use sign on the door and close the door. The room is cleaned daily. It has a warm and inviting feeling to it. The parents that use the room at Homewood ELC love the room. They have their own private area. Nursing can be a wonderful experience for both mother and baby. It provides ideal nourishment and a special bonding experience that many mothers cherish.

    Parent comment:
It is vital for me to have access to a safe space where I am comfortable enough to feed my baby the way my body intends. Coming back to work after maternity leave can be a struggle, and to be able to still support my baby and have that connection throughout the day eases the anguish.
